My kde build is based on your kde build but (at least before this update) would not work with raspberry pi connect. It looks like your kde build is working. I wonder what I have messed up... For those asking about the differences between VNC and Raspberry Pi Connect (at least two of you), consider the scenario where the Pi is located inside your home network (behind your Internet router) and you attempt to access it from, say, an Internet cafe away from your home with a laptop. VNC is just a remote display server, it doesn't really care from where you are connecting from, it just needs a route to be available to connect to it. With the scenario above, you'd need to either open a port on your router for port forwarding (and probably a Dynamic DNS address) or enable VPN so both the Pi and laptop appear to be on the same network. At that point you can use VNC between the two. Raspberry Pi Connect acts as a middle-man and relay between you and the Pi. It sets up the connection to the Pi (I presume some kind of reverse tunnel) and then connects you to it when you connect to Connect with your laptop. In other words, VNC is just a remote display server whereas Raspberry Pi Connect is a remote display server and a connection broker.

Lee, is there a difference in privacy between this and VNC seeing that raspberry pi is now a public company and will have to conform to the ‘man’ sooner or later? I can use VNC without signing in.

I really loved your video on Android 14 for the Raspberry Pi 4B. I have a double SD adapter with a switch to change from my Berryboot OS's to Android. I have the Vilros Keyboard TouchPad Hub and it's like a Stealthy Black C64. I still can't seem to figure out where to paste my Framework ID to make my Play Store run but I have just used APK's to get some things I needed. I am running a 128GB. I used a Fat 32 Formatting tool. Very happy so far. Thanks for the Video.

I have the official 7" touchscreen. And no, just having power, it does not light up. At least for me, with USB power in. It needs power at or before the time of boot. Otherwise it wont be initialized and light up.

How are you ablw to control it i can only use with controler

I play the drums and i use my wide screen laptop to display the sheet music. It sits on a bar stool in fron of my electronic drumkit and acoustic kit when i move it. But the laptop even with wide screen is still not big enough. For one i need glasses but even then i have trouble reading the sheetmusic. So i was gonna see about using my old rasp pi 4 to power a bigger monitor. I just need it to read the sheet music so the rasp pi is fine for that. Now i just need to find a bigger monitor. Those things would be too small for what i need it to do. I need at least a 21 cm diag

I have a Sunfounder 10" touchscreen that I bought quite a few years ago and even though its not the biggest it is my favorite screen for setting up just about any device. If you use it in a duplicated display setup its one of the best remote control setups I've ever had.

just tested my RPI 4 with the 7in. It lights up with either connection; both micro-usb and GPIO light up the display.

Have 2 Pis in daily operation with a 7" (3b+) & 10"(CM4) touch screens using the display cable interface and mounted on the back of those displays. Display cable makes a 'neet' interface but some have a 'special' adapter (on the back, not side) which is neet also (no bulky HDMI cable).

Can I used it whilst driving?

Fun fact: there are also monitors for rpi 4 under 5" i have one that is 3.5"

Thank you very much for the video. I got couple of questions. I cant click the top left buttons - Home, Discover, Apps. Clicking on them simply doesnt do anything. I cant install Netflix. Cant even find Netflix on Playstore. Tried installing from googple playstore web but it says This app isnt available for raspberry pi which is my device name.

Thanks, leepspvideo. I think I install Motion EYE on Raspberry Pi to rack my neighbours who are challenging me all the time. But this has be hidden carefully, since it is illegal. But since what my neighbours do is illegal, I don't care about their privacy rights. And then I will find an independent widness to go to the press against. But first I have to find when and what my neighours to and what time. And I hope Motion eye with Raspberry Pi will help me in doing so.😀
